The Truth About Tarot

Hello, I'm Samarah, but on YouTube I go by Sunshine Tarot. Since I was fourteen years old, I have been reading tarot cards as a teenage intuitive.

There was a persistent worry that practicing tarot would be my one-way ticket to hell because I grew up surrounded by Christians. A thought that helped combat that persistent feeling was, "Tarot found me, I didn't find it."  I first became aware of tarot when I came across a YouTube video titled "This message was meant to find you." My YouTube feed had no prior tarot reading history yet, this video marked the start of an anxious, depressing, weary, compromised, doubtful, but liberating journey.

This experience also brought me closer to God. In addition, I realized that He must have known that once I came across one of those mystery reads, I would become captivated and eventually take on the practice. So, what are the odds?

In contrast, I would frequently come across videos of people on the internet questioning the premise of tarot. They're using every tactic in the book to keep people away. As a practitioner for five years, give or take, I will tell you the truth. The honest truth. The history of tarot will not be the primary topic of this article. When it comes to that I feel like everything has been said. Instead, I wish to clear up any misconceptions, give wisdom, and share what I've learned along the journey.

Do Tarot Cards Attract Spirits & Demons?

Tarot cards themselves? No. A deck of cards is an inanimate object. They have only as much power as you give them.

What Is A Spirit?

spir·it
[ˈspirət]
noun
  1. the nonphysical part of a person which is the seat of emotions and character; the soul:
"we seek a harmony between body and spirit"
  2. those qualities regarded as forming the definitive or typical elements in the character of a person, nation, or group or in the thought and attitudes of a particular period:
"the university is a symbol of the nation's egalitarian spirit"

-Spirit definition

Based on these definitions from Google, we can conclude that spirits are energy. Tarot cards, unlike energy, can be created and destroyed. Do you understand where I'm heading with this? The person pulling the cards attract the spirits. Not the tarot cards; spirits are only interested in communicating with other vessels that possess energy, such as humans.

A spirit's energy is everywhere, and they are initially uninterested in tarot cards. However, if the spirit is earthbound, it will most likely want to communicate with you. If you happen to have a deck of cards and that is the only way you can understand them, they will use the cards to help you obtain insight into practically any question you ask, similar to a Ouija board.

This is not a bad thing. Why? You have always had the power. Every authentic tarot deck should include a handbook with the meanings of each card. Before beginning a reading, you can always set the intention of not wanting any supernatural assistance and rely solely on the book. The ability to attract spirits originates from within; we find this concept of summoning spirits repeated throughout cinema and folklore. It usually begins with a seance (intention), tools like as candles, sigils, hand holding, and darkness (tarot is the 'tool' equivalent), and speaking a spirit's name three times (Beetlejuice, Chucky, Bloody Mary, etc.). Was it the candlelight or the darkness that drew the spirit? No, the individuals participating in the seance did.

Additionally, demons are categorized as spirits.

A demon also only has as much power as you give it. A scripture from the bible states:

Now flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart. abstain from every form of evil. But the righteous are bold as a lion. James 4:7 - Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Is Tarot Evil?

I mean, I don't think so. I hope I do not sound biased. Everything has a double edge. When you consider the positives and negatives of the practice, you'll notice that tarot has helped more people than not.

Sometimes I feel like tarot is better than a mirror per se. It like hindsight 20/20. Like for instance, if I have time to squeeze a reading in the morning before I go to work than I do. But, here lately I ain't been having the time. So, last night I decided to do the daily spread at night. And after having a rough day it can best be described as a mirror of that whole, awful day. It showed every facet of emotion during that day. In a whole it told me time to let go and take a few deep breaths...lol

Pros & Cons

Tarot provides people with insights, confirmation, and advice, and when interpreted and used correctly [by both the client and the reader], it can provide peace of mind.

Tarot addiction runs rampant amongst tarot consumers.  People struggle with moderation. In addition, many take insights and ruin their own lives, then blame us tarot readers and psychics.

I battled with tarot addiction myself; it was difficult. I know how it feels to be confused because you are taking in so much information at once; you feel like your head is about to explode, and God bless those who feel they must keep everything hidden for fear that no one will understand what they are dealing with. After I came across a "This message was meant to find you reading." I was shocked, impressed, and obsessed. It didn't take long for me to start viewing multiple videos in one sitting every day; I'm sure I've viewed over three thousand from that time period to the present, and I probably had eight thousand saved to my watch later. That period in my life was awful for a variety of reasons. I already didn't know how to center my energy and thoughts, then viewing "how do they view you" videos made everything feel like a nightmare.

If you ask my opinion, everyone who has felt this way, including myself, should accept full responsibility. This was simply an indication that we had overstayed our welcome. We had already been introduced to the lessons, received our confirmations, despite the fact that they were the answers we did not want to hear, and once we had recovered from the shock of the accuracy of the readings, it was time to move on.

Furthermore, those that scam others should be ashamed of themselves. Any spiritual practitioners who are not open and honest with their clientele harm the community.

As a tarot reader, my only intention is to help you, not to ruin your life, tell you bad news, or make you upset. However, I will tell you the truth, in whatever form it comes. Oddly enough, I'm fine with tarot being deemed as evil if it means saving someone from tarot addiction, scams, and terrible practitioners, all while believing that whoever is intended to discover me, another psychic, or practioner will ultimately find the community. Which brings me to my next point.

Tarot Is Not For Everybody

The 'New- Age' movement causes the spiritual community, its tools, and concepts to become oversaturated in spurts. Numerous stories on the internet explain why people quit using crystals, tarot cards, and listening to astrology. Yet, it baffles me how many individuals fail to take accountability for the consequences of engaging in spiritual vices.

Can I be honest? I honestly believe that people who have horrible stories concerning divination were not destined to pursue it in the first place. This goes far deeper than simply following a trend. This bigger picture shows that invisible forces can guide our pathways (sometimes with our permission through prayer), and spirituality may not be a part of yours. So, you might see a ghost and be scared; if you believe that tarot invites demons in order to keep you on your intended path, so be it. Sometimes God allows us to be afraid because it draws our attention and redirects us. However, just because you had these experiences does not guarantee that others will, and it does not mean divination is necessarily evil.

Should You Stay Away From Tarot?

If you want too. Seeing so many think pieces on the internet about tarot and people's misconceptions prompted me to write this article. It was not intended to persuade anyone to appreciate tarot. It was intended to educate and, perhaps, make people less afraid.

The lesson of the day is that the ball is in your court, but you must be aware that numerous strong factors can cloud your perception of tarot cards. If something is intended for you, it will be. You'll know if it is. In order to understand that I had to let tarot go many times. For the final time, I remember telling myself, "If it were meant for you, it will find you again"

And it did. Now, I can help people by the hundreds. The truth about tarot is when fallen into the hands it's supposed to, it can touch lives and bear fruit for the receiver and its recipients.
